Not now Mr President... Not ever!

This week on the world news I, like the rest of the living world, witnessed the abhorrent act of enforcement officers tearing children from the arms of their parents. Children being put in detention camps and assigned a number...

Children who were absolutely petrified, and parents who’s hearts were breaking. Children who will be haunted by these actions for the rest of their lives.

Why? Because a megalomaniac who resides in an office of power decided to bring down a ruling that he deemed fit for humanity. Here’s the thing, immigrants whether illegal or not are everywhere because they are looking for a better way of life for themselves and their children. Can you blame them? I can’t. I have watched on tv as children have been caught up in war zones and witnessed the ravages of conflict that nobody, let alone a child, should ever have to experience. We live in 2018, we have advanced technologically beyond the wildest realms of generations before ever thought possible. We have grown culturally and socially with acceptance and with a respect for anyone from a background different from ours. Yet it hasn’t quite got through to some.

Sadly, if the world looks at the history books a similar actions were taken by another even more infamous megalomaniac in 1940’s Europe.

Please don’t think for a second I am being disrespectful to the victims of the Holocaust, I can’t begin to imagine the pain and torment experienced on any level. However, the actions of the President of the United States brought about images close to those imposed during World War II.

How can the free world living in this day and age ever fathom that the actions of this man could ever be acceptable to society in any way, or in any possible outcome? His intentions are those of a bully, who is throwing the might of a world super power behind him.

Bullies have no place in the world. Not now, not in the past, not ever.

It is time for the world to stand before this odious little man and quash his ego and his stop his hell-bent desire to destroy the world we live in.

Immigration built his ‘Land of the Free’. He also seems to forget his own ancestry who came to the same land as immigrants many decades before. The world as we know it was founded on migration - immigrants have been coming and going in every country for as long as time.

Everybody here, comes from somewhere...
