See, Hear, Feel...

Use your senses, take in everything you can. Learn from everything you encounter. Even if it’s just taking in your surroundings wherever you go. Yesterday evening I travelled up to Burton upon Trent in the Middle of England for a business meeting this morning. This also afforded me the opportunity to go a further 45 minutes north to visit my niece who is studying in nearby Stafford university. I love visiting new towns, especially old style market towns. Walking around just taking in the architecture and imagining how the old has survived through to modern day and still not look out of place, the opposite in fact. It looks perfectly nestled in the hustle bustle of modern life.

The sad thing is many people don’t notice what’s around them. Most often not by choice, but more by design. So people are blind to what they do not want to see. Oblivious to what is around them, the never noticing the world. Worse still are those who choose fall into this category but are in denial of it. We all come into contact with those who fall into these categories.

Don’t be like this. Be the sort of person who stops in your tracks to just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of what is around you.

Be grounded with it too.

Be quiet, but never mute. Keep your eyes open and drink in all you see. If your eyes are shut, your ears are paying attention. More than all of this, your mind should always be open and you will grow a little more every day with all you see.

Try it, you may be surprised by what you see, hear, feel...
