Be someone, be yourself...

Yesterday we experienced World Mental Health Day. A day when we are encouraged to look out for one another, and to ask twice if someone is ok, just incase they’re putting a brave face on things the first time you ask.

We shouldn’t have to wait for an individual day once a year to be mindful of one another. We should have this ingrained within our very fibre. The ability to look out for one another and to be there with a kind word, an ear to listen or even a hug will be the most important thing we can do today, this week, this month, this year - or for all time.

The thing is we need to be unafraid to be ourselves. To not worry about any self contained stigma or hang ups we have about letting our proverbial hair down. Ok, so I haven’t got much left, but you know where I’m coming from. It’s about honesty, honesty to ones self. When we are unafraid to be ourselves, regardless of who we are, or where we are, then that is the moment we are best placed to help anyone around us.

Who are you when no one’s watching...?

There are three months left in this decade. Let that soak in for a moment. Seriously, three months....

Another decade coming to an end. What has changed? How have you grown? What has nearly finished you, only for you to keep going? Who has been there for you, and more importantly, who have you been there for?
