What is Life...?

This week in the UK the news has been dominated with the suicide of Caroline Flack, following media persecution. She was the media darling and yet villainised just as quick. Just as so many are.

Suicide itself is incomprehensible for those left behind. Sadly, everyday there are untold instances of people who believe they can no longer take the pain of their existence and take their lives as a result. Unfortunately it is only those deemed as ‘famous’ that make the news. Yet each and every one, regardless of public notoriety or not; is a son or daughter, a brother or sister, a partner or spouse, a friend or companion. They are someone. Everyone is someone.

The sad thing is the media, and all those intolerable ‘reality’ shows are making people with no discernible talent famous. When they fall out of the spotlight they often find themselves sunk into the darkest depths. Alcohol, drugs and other addictions temporarily numb the pain of neglect.

The media has become incredibly dangerous for not just the young, but people of all ages. They make pop up icons out of people who crave their five minutes of fame and more. It starts out as a joke with a jag, but the barbs stick. They often stick forever because of the power of the media to influence and to tarnish.

Censorship should be implied to stop anyone being in the spotlight if they only have a desire to be famous. It will damage them and those around them. It really can’t continue to be the way it is.

I implore everyone to stop watching ‘reality’ shows, they are only making media fodder of those without the intellect to realise.

Stop buying the gutter press. In the U.K we have several newspapers (I am not going to mention them by name - but it’s not hard to guess). Similarly, I am sure there are countless others around the world. Reporting should be factual and unbiased, so as to let the reader form their own opinion.

Banish trashy and glossy magazines from your lives, I promise you that you will make your lives better by not judging yourself against pathetic plastic people who are only famous for selling their souls to the highest bidder.

Buying into this low brow form of media and following their click-bait online keeps them going. By buying into these institutions you are directly responsible for funding and promoting future sadness and untimely deaths of those who cannot handle the lifestyle they supposedly longed for. If this is ‘reality’ then stop the world, I want to get off.

Please be considerate with your choices.

Don’t buy into this fakery, don’t click into the rabbit hole of emptiness.

Be informed about your sources of information. Always remember that everyone is fighting their own way through life - be a beacon of light in someone’s darkest day.

So, just what is life?

Life is wonderment,

Life is beautiful,

Life is fragile...
