Something to...

This week I’ve been thinking about what makes kind people. What’s the underlying traits that guide people to show kindness in the world?

I think I’ve kind of figured it out. For me it’s an unselfish approach to life and the fact that it makes you feel good. There’s a sense of reward within that just happens. It like some people describe it as a warm fuzzy feeling inside. That’s the amazing thing about kindness; it makes you feel good. Whether you’re the one handing it out, or receiving it.

This has then got me thinking that it can even be started with something as simple as a smile. Just the simple act of smiling will normally make someone else smile too. Ever want to trial it, think about when a baby smiles. I defy anyone not to smile when a baby smiles at them. But this is the thing, when a baby smiles, why are they smiling? The pure innocence of a baby gifts the smile because whatever they see makes them want to give back happiness.

Even from birth kindness is instilled in us. It is the interactions we have with the world that makes us hardened to kindness. So now that we know our interactions can affect our emotional state, then we have the opportunity to mindfully choose who we interact with. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but in those times we have the power to carry ourselves with an air of grace and not lower our vibration to less than we would ordinarily expect of ourselves - or what those who know us would expect of us.

So with kindness in mind, we can simplify our goals in life to three things. Three driving goals that will see us right in life, in love, in our careers, in everything we do and love for.

In life we need three things:

Something to love

Something to do

Something to wish for
