Just a door...

Occasionally we beat ourselves up over where we find ourselves in life. It’s no big secret to any of us. I am sure we’ve all done it at some point in our lives, when we’ve questioned what led us to that epoch.

For some it can be their own actions that bring it about, it can be a narcissistic approach to life, that comes crashing down with a moment of clarity. Actually for all of us in some way or another it is our own reactions. How? The actions of others  can be accepted by us, or they can be rejected by us. It’s all down to how strong we feel at the time that takes us through.

I guess the easiest analogy is to imagine standing on one side of a door. The door is shut, but unlocked - that’s the most important bit to remember. What is happening around us can lead us to chose to either stay on that side of the door. With whatever happiness or unhappiness we find ourselves in. The door is closed, so it stops it from going any further in our lives, and we chose to not go any further through the conscious effort of keeping ourselves on that side of the door.

So, back to the fact the door is unlocked. It’s always been unlocked. Fear of trying it may have previously made us give up on it. Or worse still, always waiting for others to open doors for us.

What if, and I mean this is where the simplest of acts can change your life. What if you open the door and step through? Sure it may be completely new and alien to you at first. It may even be dark. But, you have the capability to start that adventure. To bring on newness and greatness if you want it.

The only difference between being on one side of the door or the other, is the simple act of making that decision. Of grabbing the handle and turning it. Opening up a doorway into all that can be.

No matter how dark, or troubled your days are never forget - the door isn’t locked, and it’s just a door!

You truly can open all the doors in life...
