Falling leaves, and new growth...

It’s that time of year when fall is upon us. I love this season. I love the way the colours change and how the landscape changes with each day. Firstly the leaves turning to amber and orange, as if the tree line was ablaze with a wash of colour and vibrancy. Then as the winds arrive, the leaves fall and scatter; like confetti at a wedding, but instead gifted from Mother Nature and blanketing the ground with leaf strewn lava which blows and disperses across the lands.

The other reason I love this season is because it is a reminder of the way the world heals itself and regrows each year. Pretty much the same as we do, either daily, monthly or annually. The leaves falling should be taken as a reminder to us all that there are times when we have to let things fall away from our lives. Only when we do can we ensure that new growth will happen and we can continue to show our true colours, rather than suffocating ourselves and falling down like the last angered leaf and slowly rotting away.

The best thing about doing this is that not only can we decide when and where the autumn needs to be, but we have the power to bring about the winds of change that dispel any doubts or negativity that is holding us back from readying ourselves for the next season of our lives.

Be ready to enjoy the piles of leaves as you walk through your life. Run through them, kick them and throw them in the air. Remember how you used to play as a child  throwing the leaves in the air as you run around? So what’s different as an adult? What is stopping you from grabbing all the ‘leaves’ you need to lose and throw them in the air as you free yourself. Not just free yourself, but regain your freedom to enjoy all that makes you all that you were, not just all that you are now.

So just like when people see a white feather and they are reminded of a loved one lost, next time you see a falling leaf think of it as another burden released. Another little part of release that brings someone closer to their true self. Someone will see your leaf and will know the very same.

Don’t be afraid of the fall, welcome the winds of change; and most of all always welcome the chance to cast down the leaves that hold back your growth.

Celebrate the orange, red and gold as the carpet of leaves fall forever away. Watch them as they go and know your new growth has already started...
