Sometimes it needs to rain...

Over the last few weeks the spring flowers have started to blossom. It’s that time of year when the green shoots start to emerge from the earth and the first flowers start to come. The colours that have been missing from the gardens and hedgerows, for what seems so long now.

I love how it it almost looks like an artist’s palette, where they’ve been mixing their colours to create something visually stunning. Smatterings of colour dotted around. Daffodils in particular, trumpeting the arrival of new days to come.  Much the same way as the spring flowers bring a variety of colours and energy too of new life coming after the cold, dark, wet days of winter.

Thinking about it, springtime is refreshing for the mind, body and soul because we start to feel the newness. It acts as a reminder too that no matter how dark the days are, there is new hope coming.

So if you’re struggling at the moment, don’t feel alone. Try not to feel lost. Don’t feel that there will never be the feeling of newness again. Go outside. Go for a walk. Just look around you as you go. Look at the beauty of nature that is re-emerging, just as you are re-emerging too.

These are undoubtedly difficult times, but as with winter the ‘spring’ is coming. There is always hope - no matter how dark the day. No matter how much it ‘rains’. Remember that every day now more and more new life shows us the beauty of the world and that growth is always possible. Sometimes you just have to put up with a little rain to let it happen.

There will always be a tomorrow,

There will be flowers again...
