Remember you…

Don’t try to be someone or something you’re not, just in a vain hope of being liked by people that don’t deserve to be in your life in any capacity.

One of the most important things we can ever take on board is simply this; people don’t have to like you! Honestly, it’s that simple. That’s something you don’t need to concern yourself with. You don’t even need to care. Seriously, it doesn’t matter. We need to stop trying to be liked by everyone - after all, we don’t actually like everyone either.

Why? It’s easy, in life there will always be people that we just don’t gel with. There’s nothing wrong with that, as it means those we do have a connection with are in our lives for a reason. The same for when we are there for others.

Now, I’m not saying we should go out of our way to be disliked, that’s ludicrous. We just need to be ourselves, being honest to ourselves. Once we can be fully honest to ourselves then you give the world the best version of you.

Nothing about you is anything short of incredible.

Just by the very fact you are here today, and reading this, means you have come a lot further in life than many, many others. Not because of what you have, but just by definition in that you are here.

Unfortunately in life we tend to be short sighted, and hold a short term memory in all of this. In reality, we need to think long term. We need to think about the big picture - the grand scheme. Think of the people who have come in and out of our lives, those who have stayed and those who have gone. The ones who have stayed are incredibly important. The others are incredibly important at teaching us a lesson.

So time to think big. Time to have a memory of what, and who is important. Time to remember that not everyone is going to like us, but more importantly to remember that it doesn’t really matter. Time to remember who you really are.

You can only truly change the world by being yourself…
