Thinking + Steering = Easy…

Life gets easier when you stop avoiding hard stuff.

A pretty bold statement, but it’s about facing up to what is going on around you and not being afraid to face up to whatever comes your way. There are going to be plenty of times when it’s easier to shy away from life, to hide from what we shouldn’t. Just because it’s more comfortable to do so. Just because it isn’t quite as scary as taking life head on and knowing you’ve got the fight in you to take it on and win.

Too often we doubt ourselves, thinking we “haven’t got it in me” to deal with stuff. The truth is, life has never thrown anything at you yet you haven’t been able to deal with. Pretty remarkable when you think about it!

We have all had times when we have had it tough. Some definitely more so than others. It’s not a point scoring exercise, like the scene in Jaws where Quint, Matt Hooper and Chief Brodie are comparing scars. Its more an exercise in understanding just how strong and capable you are at dealing with life and everything it can bring your way.

Our perspective of what we are about to deal with is what makes something bigger and scary than we want it to be - or it can make it more manageable or less intimidating than we originally thought.

It’s all about our thought process in the initial perception of what is happening. I have adopted this for years. Is something happens then I accept that it’s happened and the outcome. A perfect example being last September when a tree fell on my prized possession, my Audi car. Yes it annoyed me, and yes it was crap, but it happened and in reality it was just a car. Life is there to be cherished and experienced, not to be living in anguish over what might happen or what could be. The what could be is where the law of attraction should be employed and focus your energy on making it happen. The fear of what could be is merely a waste of energy and a waste of time and emotion.

Thinking about what could be is where you steer the outcome.

There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so…
