Whatever You Do…

In an age of technology at our fingertips and social media, we have inadvertently opened up a plethora of platforms for what I like to think of as ‘Makeshift Super Sleuth’s’

I’m sure we can all relate to knowing someone who will plough hours of time into snooping through other peoples business, in some sadistic hope of digging up some dirt, or seeing them unhappy or failing at whatever they are doing. It normally happens after a falling out of some description, but often someone will almost make it their mission to snoop on the other person. Often there will be accusations, mud slinging, and quite frankly pettiness. And for what?

It’s almost like they can’t let go. It’s just wrong.

Not only is it wrong, but it’s incredibly unhealthy.

All the time they waste on the past is jeopardising the future - and they are normally too blind to see it.

Yes, I get it that sometimes situations hurt, but acting like a Walmart Sherlock Holmes isn’t going to bring happiness. The only outcome of that will be bitterness. Bitterness followed by loneliness, as those around start to drift away from what they witness. By all means take time to heal, but do just that. Healing doesn’t involve prying, snooping or being difficult. It involves taking time to learn to be happy again, and not settling for anything less than that.

I have a way of looking at this kind of situation:

Whatever they are doing now is none of your business, just like whatever you do is none of their business.

Nothing brings you more inner peace than minding your own business…
