Reap, Sow, Repeat…

How many times have you heard the phrase “You reap what you sow”? More so, why is it always with a negative connotation?

For me this is something that detracts this from being a powerful message. Not just for bad. But why not good too? It essentially should encourage us to try, and think on it along the lines of “you get out of something what you put in”. Now does it sound better?

We should use this message more so for encouragement than anything else. We all need encouragement, and because of this it should be our personal responsibility to encourage others too. If we think back through our lives, irrespective of our age, we always remember those who encouraged us.

The truth is, there will only be a small handful of people that encourage us through life. These people are truly special, for they are the kind of people that see everything you could be, before you can see it, and before you become everything you can. Because with encouragement, we grow, we find reserves of strength and resilience that perhaps we may never have realised we had within us.

So, please take a moment and think about who has encouraged you. Be thankful for their words, their actions and their presence. Whether it in person, or by other means of communication, because either way they have your best intentions with them. Always.

Now, just think of what it would be like to be one of those people who someone thinks of like that.

It’s ok to reap what you sow…
