Random Acts Of…

Random Acts Of…

All too often we read about something that is just mindless. In most cases it’s random acts of vandalism that no sane minded person can comprehend the thought process behind it. Actually, the (lack of) thought process behind it.

This week has been no exception.

This week I have watched the story of Carly Burd. The lady who started ‘A Meal On Me With Love’. Carly suffers with and lives with Multiple Sclerosis & Lupus, yet she does so much for others. In the absolute financial disaster many of us are living with in the United Kingdom, Carly started growing vegetables to gift to people who were struggling financially, so that they could have something decent to eat. What started in her garden has moved to an allotment plot so that she could increase her harvest. She has fed 190 people, that otherwise would likely have gone without.

She is an example of what the world needs more of. She is an example of what should be celebrated and commended. She is a true role model.

However, this is where it takes a turn for the worse. Some mindless thug(s) thought it would be funny to throw salt over the allotment, and in turn kill her entire crop. Why? I’ve tried to figure this out many times over the last couple of days, and I simply cannot comprehend any acceptable reason why, other than these thugs are nothing but thugs. Nor will they ever be anything more than that.

It is heart breaking to see the effect this has had on Carly, watching this woman standing in her allotment in tears, all because of this random act of vandalism. Thankfully, the public have reacted. The public have gotten behind her, and a just giving charity page has been set up. Last night the total was £209,450 and increasing by the minute.

I hope the assholes who vandalised her hard work see the public outpouring of support. This just proves they have achieved nothing by their actions. In fact, you’ve only made yourselves look even more pathetic than you really are.

Random acts of vandalism never achieve anything. Yet the random kindness of strangers creates everything…
