Rock n Roll All Night…

Last weekend I got to tick off a bucket list thing for me. Something that I’ve been wanting to do, even dreamed of, since I’ve been about 15. I got to go to Download Festival.

So, when I was 15 it was known as Monsters of Rock, and has since become Download. But that’s not really important in the grand scheme of things. What is important is that I, after years of not getting round to it, managed to go. And it was everything I’d hoped for and more.

It’s left me so tired since - 4 nights with barely any sleep has taken it’s toll. But it’s also left me very happy and frustrated at the same time. Happy because it finally happened, and frustrated that I let myself take so long to get ground to it.

The thing is, in life it is so very easy to just ‘keep waiting’. It doesn’t matter what it is, whether it be a relationship, a job, a move or even a rock festival. It can be too easy to find stumbling blocks that delay stuff from happening. Instead of throwing caution to the wind, it’s easier to through caution in the way.

So why do it?

When you ask yourself those words, it’s going to be hard to give reasons over excuses. That’s what you need to focus on. Give reasons why, rather than excuses why not.

So like this ageing rocker, who was stood in a field with 85,000 others singing along to rock legends like Iron Maiden and KISS, it’s so important to let your hair down, and go for it. But most of all, to shout it out loud:

I wanna rock n roll all night…
